Homeopathy is a natural and holistic therapy. It is an effective and scientific system of healing that capitalises on the body's natural tendency to heal itself, working on an energetic rather than a chemical level in the body.

The basic principle of homeopathy is that 'like cures like', which means that a substance that will cause symptoms in a healthy person will cure those similar symptoms in a dis-eased person, for example: an onion can make our eyes water and burn and give us a runny nose; onion, as the remedy Allium Cepa, can be used to provide relief from the common cold if similar symptoms are present.

Established as a method of treatment for over 200 years, it is used extensively throughout the World and has no harmful side effects.

The remedies which homeopaths use come from many different sources. Most are derived from plants, but minerals, metals and animals are also used. The raw material is carefully prepared and then diluted - 'potentised'. When the required dilution is reached the liquid remedy can then be administered either in its liquid form or soaked onto tablets or granules for convenience.

The process of dilution and succussion imprints the characteristic energy pattern, or blueprint, of the original substance on to the water in which it is diluted. This may be likened to the transmission of television signals, where the original scene is converted into an electro-magnetic energy pattern (a signal) which can be broadcast to your receiver. A homeopathic remedy acts as a signal that energises or stimulates the body's self- healing powers, mobilising the defence systems and working on the mental, emotional and physical aspects of the body.
